Benefits of Smoking CBD Flower

Cannabidiol (CBD) has a long list of benefits that people use it for.  Some people take it in the form of a tincture, or some may use it topically.  With many different ways to take CBD and many reasons to use it, finding out what works best for you is important.  They all have unique qualities and benefits, and we will explore the benefits of smoking CBD flower.

In recent years, CBD has become increasingly popular.  Many celebrities and health professionals alike have raved about the long list of benefits CBD has to offer.  With all of the products from topicals to capsules, CBD has humble beginnings as a flower on a plant that is familiar to many.  This fragrant flower we are referring to is the cannabis plant, particularly the hemp variety in this case.

What is CBD Flower?

CBD flower is the female flowers derived from the hemp plant.  The hemp plant is grown for everything from food, to rope, to medicine.  Certain types of the hemp plant have very high levels of CBD. With hemp, the concentration of THC is required to be under .3%, therefore it will not make the user high.  With that being said, people are able to get the benefits CBD has to offer without the “high.”

These hemp flowers are low in THC, but have been selected to be extremely high in CBD. Many varieties have become available, with the most potent on the market being lifter. Lifter contains 21.1 % CBD. This high percentage is far more potent than anything previously available.

Why is Smoking CBD Flower Beneficial?

With all of the available methods of consuming CBD, one of the biggest benefits of smoking CBD flower is because it begins to work very quickly.  Within minutes or less of inhalation, a calming sensation begins to overcome the body. As stated previously, CBD is not psychoactive. Although CBD doesn’t necessarily get the consumer “high” like other strains of cannabis, it does alter the mood and helps to promote relaxation within the body.  Many people avoid smoking cannabis because of the high associated with it. With high CBD strains, the medicinal benefits can be received without the high.  Another reason to smoke CBD flower is the bioavailability of CBD smoking creates.  When smoked, more of the CBD contained in the product is rapidly absorbed. Although edibles are a great way to consume CBD, much of it can get lost in the digestive tract.  This does not occur with smoking, and it can often be more affordable.
