How to Make CBD Moisturizer and other Beauty Products

CBD is a powerful additive to skin and beauty products. CBD and other cannabinoids present within the hemp plant have many amazing qualities which can help skin stay youthful and glowing. One of the main attributes is that CBD is anti-inflammatory. Some of the other cannabinoids present in the hemp plant are anti-microbial and they can help treat an array of skin issues.

You can either add CBD Isolate or Distillate to your existing beauty products or you can create your own product using our recipes below.

CBD Moisturizer

  • 1/3 cup Shea Butter
  • 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
  • 6-8 drops of your favorite essential oil
  • 2 teaspoons Vitamin E Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Arnica Oil
  • CBD Distillate

Combine the Shea Butter and Distillate or Isolate and heat in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. Once the shea butter and CBD begin to combine remove from the heat. Add coconut oil and mix with a whisk or handheld electric kitchen beaters. The consistency should be fluffy but not over whipped. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix for another 30 – 45 seconds. Transfer to container or glass pots and refrigerate for 2 hours.

You now have a simple amazing moisturizer that will leave your skin refreshed and healthy.

CBD Body Butter

Melt the Beeswax and Cocoa Butter and CBD in a glass bowl over a double broiler. When liquid take off the heat and add the coconut oil. Mix well with a fork or a whisk. Add essential oils and mix thoroughly. Store in a mason jar or an airtight container.

CBD Face & Body Scrub

  • ½ cup finely ground salt (non-iodized is best)
  • ¼ cup of coffee grounds
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Zest of 3 limes
  • 2-3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oils (skip the essential oils if using it on your face)
  • (Can add 2-4 tablespoons of Vitamin Oil)
  • CBD Isolate – ¼ – ½  gram

Mix all ingredients together adjusting for consistency. You can add a little more coconut oil if the mixture is too dry.

It keeps well for 3-4 weeks in an airtight container.

It’s a great and easy to use skin brightener. Its all natural and leaves skin feeling clean and renewed.

CBD Shower Gel

  • 2 cups Glycerin Soap
  • 1 cup Distilled Water
  • 1-2 tablespoons Jojoba Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Vitamin E Oil
  • 1 gram Isolate or Distillate CBD or CBG
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 20-30 drops essential oil (we like vetiver and sandalwood)

Pour 2 cups of liquid glycerin soap in an empty bottle. You can melt a bar of glycerin soap if you don’t have liquid glycerin.

Add 1 cup of distilled water to dilute the glycerin soap, and 3/4 tsp. salt to preserve the homemade shower gel.

Add 1-2 tbsp. of jojoba oil to the shower gel. Jojoba oil provides lasting moisture to your skin and even has healing benefits.

Add 30 drops of an essential oil that suits your skin type to the homemade shower gel. Vetiver and sandalwood are moisturizing. Chamomile essential oil is good for dry skin, while lemon and lemongrass essential oil is good for oily skin. Peppermint and lavender essential oils refreshing and leave skin tingly.

Shake your bottle vigorously to combine all the ingredients.

What exactly are CBD Isolate and Distillate?

CBD Isolate

A white powdery CBD product that is usually around 99% pure CBD. An advantage to this product is that it is easy to mix into an existing oil-based product. It is THC free. It does not mix with water-based products and it will float to the surface so be sure that the product you are mixing it with is oil based. You can do a small test with a few drops of moisturizer and a small amount of isolate mixed in the palm of your hand to see if it melts into the product.

CBD Distillate

A harder more brittle sap like CBD extract available in Broad Spectrum (THC Free) or Full Spectrum (0.3% THC). Distillate can be melted and mixed in with cosmetics. Its melting point is between 150.f – 160.f. This can best be achieved by using a double-broiler (a glass bowl over a saucepan of bowling water).

Another way is by adding an emulsifier like polysorbate directly to the distillate and then adding the moisturizer. This method has the advantage of mixing oil substances (like the distillate) and melding them with another oil-based substance or a water-based substance. Polysorbate is cost effective and easy to obtain.
