What Are The Benefits of Delta-8?

Delta-8 benefits are wide ranging and it is one of the fastest growing demanded cannabinoids, here’s why. It’s legal under the 2018 Farm Bill providing it is derived from Hemp Flower. Like it’s good friend THC Delta 9 – Delta 8 can give you a buzz but a much more mellow one than the THC Delta 9 you would find in cannabis. People are fast discovering its mellow, non-anxious/paranoid, clear headed high, that will still give you the benefits of THC Delta 9 but without the negative implications.

Delta 8 is fast appearing in all your regular products like vapes, flower (usually CBD flower that has been sprayed with Delta 8 Distillate), gummies, tinctures and topicals. Expect to see many more products appearing on the market over the next 12 months.

Which product made with Delta-8 benefits you the most?

Well that entirely depends on your preferred mode of use. Vapes have a high bioavailability and they kick in pretty much immediately. Their effects are more short lived than edibles. Edibles stay in the system longer, but they can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half to take full effect. Tinctures are often preferred as their bioavailability is around 35-40% and they take effect within 5-15 minutes. This is largely due to the receptors under the tongue which deliver the medicine into the bloodstream without having to pass through the digestive tract.

We always advise people to choose a method which fits with their lifestyle and their needs. If you enjoy vaping – choose a vape. If you want a portable, easily administered method that works quickly – choose a tincture. If you want assistance is sleeping and have a sweet tooth – go for a gummy or two in the evenings.

Will Delta-8 THC show up in a drug test?

Probably, so if you are subject to random drug tests – skip Delta 8 and go for a CBD Isolate or Broad-Spectrum product which contains 0% THC.

Many drug tests do not only test for Delta 9 – they test for a whole chain of Deltas

‘11-nor-Δ8-THC-9-COOH, 11-nor-9-carboxy-delta-eight-Tetrahydrocannabinol, 11-nor-delta-eight-Tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid, delta (eight)-Tetrahydrocannabinol-11-oic acid, delta (six)-Tetrahydrocannabinol-7-oic acid can be detected at 30ng/mL cutoff’

Usually, this family of Deltas has a pretty long shelf life within the body as it adjoins to fat molecules. The rule of thumb is 3-4 weeks so its not a compound that can be taken on a Friday night and will be pretty much out of your system by Monday.

What’s all the hype about?

Memory

Delta 8 can potentially have a positive impact on people suffering from memory loss, Alzheimer’s and a range of other memory related illnesses. A research study found an increase in acetylcholine in mice when they were administered Delta-8 THC. Dementia and Alzheimer’s are associated with a decrease in this important neurotransmitter.

Delta-8 can be instrumental in protecting and even reversing memory related problems.

Anxiety

Delta 8 can assist in reducing anxiety which makes it ideal for people who would like all the benefits of Delta-9 THC but without all of the paranoia and anxiety people often experience.

This makes it ideal for people looking for relief from pain, inflammation and looking for relaxation. Delta-8 delivers a lighter high with around 2/3 of the buzz from THC Delta-9 and a lighter, more clear-headed feeling, making it ideal for day use.

Cancer Fighting

A study in 1995 conducted a hospital in Israel, gave Delta-8 to children suffering from cancer. The study noted that there had been 480 successful treatments of cancerous tumors using Delta-8. It also relieved nausea in patients and allowed them to eat whilst undergoing treatment.

While more research needs to be carried out in this area, it definitely shows promise.

Fights Nausea and stimulates Appetite

Delta 8 could be a breakthrough in treating cancer patients who often experience extreme nausea resulting in loss of appetite.

A study published in Life Sciences showed Delta 8’s potential in reducing nausea. This was proven again in a study administering Delta 8 to mice.

Pain and Inflammation

CBD and THC have both been reported to be highly effective in treating pain and inflammation. Delta-8 works on the same CB1and CB2 receptors to block the relay of pain signals and to calm the body inflammatory response.
