CBG is known as the parent cannabinoid. Cannabis plants produce cannabigerolic acid (CBG-A). Specific enzymes in the plant break down CBG-A, and direct it down one of three main cannabinoid lines. These are tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA).
